Performance Lean on Me
« Performance

Lean on Me is a multidisciplinary work that was created as a way to try to understand the complicated and diverse way that people inhabit spaces. The work was commissioned by the TU University in Dresden, and was a collaboration between Masters of Choreography students from the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz, and Fine art Bachelor students from the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden.

The work combines sound design, choreography, lighting design, and visual design, to create a narrative experience, which moves the audience throughout the space and forces questions and reflections on the theme of taking space. People inhabit space in different ways. Physically inhabiting a room is not the only way to exist within it. Socio-political understandings of taking space are diverse and complex, they interweave and affect our perceptions of ourselves and others.
