Baby Blue is a work that questions the position of people in amongst the ocean of expectations that we exist in. Most people are always surrounded by the expectation of having to perform as a part of their profession. When you ‘perform’ either on stage or in any other roles in your life, you are only valuing the output, you become a product. Through Baby Blue I wanted to show that this ‘performance’, when it is required more and more, can become something unnatural. The result of living a ‘performative life’, is a life that is not actually our own. By realizing that this way of living is just a psychological response to our own environment, we can liberate ourselves by ending this ‘performance’ and just exist as how we wish.
