The effect of violence is difficult to understand or comprehend for an individual. Violence can be felt through it's physicality, but it also can be experience as an emotional sensation. When the sharpness of the knife is covered in plastic, it's physical properties are dulled, it can now be held comfortably. However, there is still an emotional tension from the object.
This is also similar to how we cannot physically comprehend the violence we observe in the news or on the street, but we can still experience the tension of the image from being an observer.
Book labels have also been added to individualize each knife.
The interplay between danger and safety is experience simultaneously by the viewer.
